What Do You Think?
Thank you for taking the time to participate in our survey. As you know, Playa del Carmen is the fastest growing city in Latin America and the Riviera Maya is the fastest growing resort destination in the world. What you may not know is that growth is heading right for Akumal. There is a plan to expand Akumal to a city of 250,000 by 2028. The Solidaridad Municipal government will present the development plan to Congress this month for formal approval.
We at CEA are concerned about the potential impact from such massive growth and need your input to help complete our mission: “to monitor the impact of development on the regional ecosystems and culture; to report findings and their significance to the public through education; and, through education, to influence public policy.”
We will post the responses to this survey on our Web site and use it in our fight to help contain the growth and to see that this area becomes a sustainable tourist destination. If you would not like your name published, please note that at the bottom. You are welcome to add pictures to your comment.
